Wine Tasting – How To Host a Blind Wine Tasting Party

Published by under Wine tasting

Wine tasting

Wine tastings are a fun and great way to get together with friends, enjoy some great wines, eat a little food, and just have fun in general. While a normal wine tasting with great wines, great cheeses, and great friends can be a lot of fun, sometimes you need to spice things up a little bit. One of the easiest and most economical ways to do this is to host a blind wine tasting party. The people who attend the party need not be blindfolded, but the wines poured will be placed in a black or brown bag in order to conceal their identity. Here are a few tips on how to host a blind wine tasting party.

One of the most important things in hosting a blind wine tasting party is to pick a theme for your blind wine tasting party. One idea for a wine tasting theme is to pick a certain country and choose different varietals for said country. An example of this would be picking a different Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot for Argentina. This would cover the red wine portion of the blind wine tasting. Then you could choose different white wines from Argentina such as Chardonnay, Torrontes, and Cabernet Blanc. You can print off a short pamphlet with info on the region and its varietals to make things a bit easier for your guests.
